- What is the speed management request? Speed Mitigation Devices
Site Inspection Completed - Close SR. Thank you for contacting Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) regarding the speeding vehicles on S 5th St. TPW is aware of this speed hump that was not replaced after the resurfacing of S 5th St and we are currently tracking it. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to replace it right now and are waiting for additional funds to become available. We currently do not have a timeline associated with this but are hoping funds will become available in 2026. In the meantime, you may submit a request for S 5th St to be added to our queue for a six-week deployment of Dynamic Speed Display Devices (DSDDs). DSDDs display travelling speed to drivers and flash or warn them to slow down should they exceed the speed limit. These devices are installed on a first-come, first served basis and with such high demand, the current wait time to receive a pair of these devices is roughly 10-12 months. When submitting your request, please specify the section of roadway you would prefer these devices installed.
